All major shipping carriers no longer guarantee delivery commitments! Please consider this when selecting express services. We therefore can not guarantee any ship date and can only provide estimates. We suggest contacting your carrier for specific information about your location.
Shipping Carriers
We ship via UPS Ground, UPS Express Service, FedEx Ground, Fedex Express Service, DHL and USPS to the United States.
We ship Monday - Friday during the hours of 9am EST to 3pm EST. We do not ship on weekends or holidays. If you place an order after 1 pm EST, Monday - Friday, it will be processed the next business day. We do not ship to PO Boxes. Our warehouse location is in Bridgeport, CT, 06605 USA.
We are a one-day ground UPS zone from most of Maine to Delaware!
Please Note: If you are located in our one-day ground zone and select expedited shipping, UPS will automatically hold your shipment for the allotted number of days. Go to UPS to see estimated shipping times based on your location.
Shipments to Canada or other countries require a valid customer's FedEx, UPS, or DHL account number. Please read more on our International Shipping Policy.
Terms & Conditions
If you have an urgent need for express services, give us a call right away! We want to be sure we can accommodate overnight requests to help you get your products quickly. However, stock conditions, manufacturer delays, carrier delays, etc., can prevent us from expediting an order. Kindly give us a call to discuss your delivery needs first so that we can be sure we can meet your needs and avoid any disappointments.
Normally, we ship Ground Service for arrival in 1-5 business days in the continental U.S. However, we would be happy to accommodate faster delivery times by utilizing overnight air services via UPS or FedEx. Call us for any other special shipping arrangements or special delivery deadlines or requirements! We will try and accommodate special requests but cannot be held responsible for delivery delays, processing errors, or any problems with shipping carriers or delivery exceptions (e.g., business close, unable to obtain a signature, etc.). Please note that the expedited shipping time (e.g. Overnight, 2-day) begins once the customer has received an email from Better Building Hardware with a tracking number for the package that has shipped, which is not necessarily the same day an order is placed. Also, be aware that because of our couriers' policies, expedited shipping does not include weekend days (e.g. a package shipped 2-day on Friday will likely arrive on Tuesday).
Orders for items in stock will usually be processed and shipped within 2 business days from when the order was placed. This is contingent on the product inventory/stock and the successful processing of payment.
Sometimes Better Building Hardware offers free shipping promotions; however, those offers only apply to shipping addresses in the contiguous U.S. (i.e., excludes HI, AK, and Canada, Puerto Rico).
We are a hardware dealer and work directly with distributors and manufacturers. Some of our orders are filled from the inventory of our distributors and manufacturers, while other orders are made-to-order as per our manufacturers' current schedules and lead times (which can vary by season). The pricing on our website is based on manufacturer list prices and does NOT include shipping costs. We cannot build shipping costs into the price because our clients are located all over the country and sometimes in different countries. Shipping costs are based on weight and shipping zones, and we try to get you the best rates possible.
Domestic Shipping Terms & Conditions

We use the following shipping services: UPS, Fedex, DHL, USPS-Domestic ONLY. Our Bridgeport, CT fulfillment center processes shipments Monday through Friday, 9am - 3pm EST. Stock orders placed AFTER 1pm EST will be processed the next business day. If it falls on a Friday, the order will ship on the following Monday.We are conveniently located in Bridgeport, CT, a one-day UPS Zone with transit to the Northeast region, including most of Delaware and Maine. *Please Note: If you are located in the “one-day ground zone” and select expedited shipping, UPS will automatically hold the shipment for the allotted number of days. Drop Shipping is sometimes available when requested. The Better Hardware Companies will ship orders to third parties (drop ship) on Customer’s behalf. Customer assumes responsibility for all such orders and shipments upon release by carrier to the recipient, or if shipped on Customer’s carrier account, at the time of shipment from The Better Hardware Companies. The customer is responsible for the processing of any and all returns by third-party recipients.
Unless provided otherwise, most orders ship via UPS or FedEx ground and shipping charges will be added to the Customer's invoice. Shipping charges will be assessed according to the carrier’s current published rates. If your shipment requires a faster ship method than ground, please be sure to select that option when placing your order. Shipment arrival times vary depending on the service level selected and the delivery address.
