The Zero-ClearanceTM Door Control Solution
GHOSTOP MODELS FOR ANY DOOR SITUATION

WHY GHOSTOP?

This is a question that any good architect or builder can answer almost immediately upon seeing the Ghostop work for the first time.

We’ve witnessed many of these “aha” moments, and they mostly come from the relief at being able to minimize the obstacles—both physical and visual—that traditional door stops represent in a project. GHOSTOP keeps your beautiful floors and walls from being littered with boring little rubberized bollards that have no business hanging around your project.

Now, it’s not hard to imagine a project without door stops and, like the builders and designers we talk to, you’ll soon be coming up with all sorts of ways to use these Zero-Clearance jamb and door stops.

NOTE : Unlike some other "hidden" door stop products, this is not a toy. It is a cleverly engineered piece of high-performance door hardware, made with durable and maintenance-free materials. There will be no going back once you start using GHOSTOP in your projects.

GHOSTOP is precision-made in the USA by Lowe Hardware.

Which model is right for my door?

The GHOSTOP line currently offers 5 different solutions. The primary distinction between the models is the shape of their strike plates.

Series GS200 : Models GS200 and GS200XD both feature rectangular strike plates and was engineered for use as a no-profile positive built stop for doors. The rectangular shape allows it to be mounted inconspicuously in the head or side jambs of framed openings and aligned with the frame's edges. It can also work wonders in the surface of a wall to provide a positive stop for a pivot door in its closed position. Our customers have come up with many innovative uses for the GS200 Series.

Series GS300 : Models GS300, GS300XD, and GS300XL feature a round strike plate and was engineered for use as a zero-clearance door stop for any door. The more-forgiving circular shape allows it to be mounted at any angle, irrespective of wall alignment in the path of the door. It has been used in ceilings as well as floors. Sometimes, a second strike assembly, sold separately, is utilized to provide control in both the open and closed positions.

No Jerks! It's worth highlighting how the proprietary Ramped Strike for all these models eases the pin in—faster than the blink of an eye—which then makes releasing the door again something smooth and natural, without having to jerk it back. The soft hold and soft release makes using GHOSTOP a pleasure.

GHOSTOP

GS200 Jamb Stop for lighter doors

This Ghostop has a rectangular Strike Assembly and a Delrin® molded Pin Assembly—Delrin® being the stiffest engineering polymer available. The question of whether you should specify the GS200 vs. the GS200XD is a matter of inertia; it comes down to the weight of the door and how it is used.

The GS200 has been tested in a variety of situations and performs perfectly well as a positive stop for closet doors, pivot doors and other situations where a physical stop is not possible or desirable. It works great as a floor or ceiling stop if you can align it with adjacent walls or frame edges.

Like all Ghostop models, the GS200 is not a positive latch, but does provide a bit of holding power when the pin is engaged with the strike and is disengaged smoothly, without jerking.

GHOSTOP

GS200XD Jamb Stop for heavier doors

The XD stands for Extra Duty. Like the GS200, it has a rectangular Strike Assembly, but the Pin Assembly is milled from solid brass and the pin is made from stainless steel which can withstand more shear force when it makes contact with the strike. We recommend the GS200XD for heavier doors or doors which are likely to see more abuse.

Like all Ghostop models, it’s not meant as a positive latch, but does provide a bit of holding power when the door is in its stopped position. It is designated as a jamb stop because we often seen the GS200XD used for larger doors, often pivots, that want a hard stop in a place where building out a frame stop would ruin the architectural idea of the opening, or with closets where a simpler solution (that doesn’t poke the lip of a strike plate beyond the frame) is a cleaner look. The compact rectangular strike allows it to be integrated in a thin jamb or frame.

GHOSTOP

GS300 Door Stop for lighter doors

This GS300 Series features a round Strike Assembly. That’s the only difference between it and the GS200. The Pin Assembly is the same molded Delrin® Pin Assembly of the standard GS200. The pin is also Delrin®, the stiffest engineering polymer available.

The question of GS300 vs. the GS300XD is the same as between the GS200 and GS200XD; it comes down to the weight of the door and how it is used. We suggest using the GS300 for doors up to 200 lbs. but it is your call on what sort of abuse you expect and whether the GS300XD might be warranted.

The round Strike Assembly allows for placement that is independent of orientation (there’s a reason round doorstops are the norm). It can sit comfortably and accept the door in any position on the floor or on the ceiling.

GS300XD Door Stop for heavier doors

Again, it’s Extra Duty just like the GS200XD. The Pin Assembly is milled from solid brass, with the pin in stainless steel. With the many door shops we serve, this is most popular model for their pivot entry doors and larger interior doors. The value of this entire set is clear and has become the go-to high-performance solution for doors of any material.

The GS300XD features the round Strike Assembly, capable of fitting in wherever it’s needed—and anywhere a trip hazard, like a standard door stop, has no place being.

GHOSTOP

GS300XL for bigger undercuts

The other four Ghostop models serve a maximum .75” undercut. Often, doors with higher thresholds end up with greater undercuts in their open position and require a longer pin to engage the strike. The GS300XL is a handy option that increases your throw to 1-1/4”. A stronger magnet provides ample pull to launch the stainless steel pin into the strike.

GHOSTOP

Extra Strike Assemblies

We are often asked to outfit a door with a second Strike Assembly for when you want to stop the door in the closed as well as the open position. These sets are simply a Coverplate (round or rectangular) in the finish you specify along with the Ramped Delrin® Strike, and the Magnet.
